Ship of Fools:
A Jollyship the Whiz-Bang Adventure

a radio play by Nick Jones
Directed, edited and designed by Jill B. C. DuBoff and me

One of the few surviving recordings of one of the first podcasts I worked on, Naked Radio. I loved this show. Every month, we aired three new radio plays that we commissioned, developed and produced. We were working with almost no resources (as I recall, this one was recorded in my co-producer Jill’s apartment, and we got into an argument with one of the actors because we didn’t have enough pairs of headphones for everybody). But years later, I still think it sounds pretty fantastic, and is a beautiful relic of a sometimes very weird little show we made and loved.

Anyway, this is a new radio play set in the Jollyship the Whiz-Bang universe. Jollyship was a sort of puppet musical about pirates. Honestly, the less you know about it, the more sense this piece probably makes.

Performed by Nick Jones, Raja Azar, Steven Boyer and Jeff Biehl

Produced for Naked Radio, a production of Naked Angels Theatre Company
