Blank Check with Griffin and David
Hosted by Griffin Newman and David Sims
Occasionally edited by me

When people ask me what my favorite podcast is, I immediately answer, Blank Check with Griffin and David. In the crowded field of movie podcasts, this one is among the most informative and the most enjoyable. Plus, the episodes are very long, so… more bang for your buck. Last year, producer Ben Hosley approached me and asked if I’d be willing to edit some episodes for them. It felt like if you were the biggest Beatles fan on earth and George Martin was like, “Want to play a couple shows with us?” I’ve been occasionally editing the show ever since.

The episode embedded below focuses on John Singleton’s 2000 film Shaft. I link to it because it starts with a mashup of the Shaft and Night Court themes that I wrote. It is perhaps the single stupidest thing I’ve ever made, and I love it dearly.
