I’m an audio producer based in New York. I spend most of my time working on The New Yorker Radio Hour. But I find time to take on other projects here and there. Really, I’m just a sucker for a good story. Before my career in audio, I worked for a decade in script development, first at Manhattan Theatre Club (which produces plays on- and off-Broadway), then with a bunch of other companies, including (but not limited to) the Sundance Institute, Scott Rudin Productions, MCC Theater and SPACE on Ryder Farm. For one very odd summer, I was the head juror of a screenplay competition sponsored by the Chinese government. Before all that, I lived in Austin, where I played bass in a country band. I’ve worn a lot of hats. Favorite hat: the dad hat. You can find my full resume here. And visit my WNYC contributor page here. And you can always email me at alexmichaelbarron at gmail dot com. https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work daily 1.0 2023-05-15 https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/living-in-the-shadow-of-guantanamo monthly 0.5 2020-07-26 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595637157048-G4OEWHPNC9QUILRMR7VK/illustration-of-gray-wire-690800.jpg Work - Living in the Shadow of Guantánamo Photo by izhar khan from Pexels https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/jollyship-the-whiz-bang monthly 0.5 2020-07-26 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595710513865-8JZY4NEB303Y0P14ZQSY/sunset-ship-boat-sea-37730.jpg Work - Ship of Fools: A Jollyship the Whiz-Band Adventure https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/nightnight-k4tpn-2fejp monthly 0.5 2020-07-25 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595637879004-78XIW9RG43YTFIWY5PXL/grayscale-photography-of-man-in-short-standiung-896059.jpg Work - Bob Odenkirk's Amazing Abs Photo by DreamLens Production from Pexels https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/populists-outer-space monthly 0.5 2020-07-25 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595711164225-ASIELMNLANXLPQEZLQ79/photo-of-shooting-star-during-night-time-1477156.jpg Work - Populists from Outer Space Photo by Achraf Alan from Pexels https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/the-school monthly 0.5 2020-07-25 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595638054020-RYWH9CX4QVNHOGCCVBC8/architectural-design-architecture-brick-building-305823.jpg Work - The School Photo by Scott Webb from Pexels https://alexbarron.squarespace.com/work/curse-golden-snake monthly 0.5 2020-07-25 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5f1b3fc0b222ed0cbadb7639/1595710103078-80X5TOIQF2KAOZBADLNH/steps-dune-dunes-sand-dunes-65562.jpg Work - The Curse of the Golden Snake!
